2 Sep – Rob Zombie's horror sequel "Halloween 2" has been banned by the Malaysian censors, according to the film's local distributor Tayangan Unggul.

No reasons were disclosed as to why the movie has been banned but the movie opened in the U.S. last week under the R rating with "strong brutal bloody violence throughout, terror, disturbing graphic images, language, and some crude sexual content and nudity." All nationwide screenings and previews have been suspended.

"Halloween 2" too gory for local standards?
"Halloween 2" brings back the original cast of Malcolm McDowell, Scout Taylor-Compton, Sheri Moon and Tyler Mane, picking up right where the first film left off and taking Laurie to the hospital after supposedly killing the man who was responsible for the deaths of several people in the town of Haddonfield, Illinois. However, her stay at Haddonfield General becomes very brief when a very much alive Michael appears once more, brutally murdering everyone in the hospital to find his sister. Michael disappears, and Laurie survives the infamous Halloween massacre, but is still haunted by it years later. Laurie struggles to come to terms with her dark past but the supposedly dead Hobo Myers has other plans, and as the anniversary of his massacre approaches, he returns to Haddonfield once more, with a family reunion planned that Laurie will never forget.

The earlier movie, "Halloween", screened in Malaysia back in September 2008 with heavy cuts.
