7 Sep – Just as Halloween is for the Americans, the 'Hungry Ghost Festival' is for the Chinese. Falling on the 7th month of the Lunar New Year, the Hungry Ghost month is a belief that the gates of hell are opened to free the hungry ghosts who then wander to seek food on Earth. In tie up with the celebration, filmmakers release their share of spooks during this superstitious month.

Singaporean directors Jack Neo and Boris Boo prepared their latest offering "Where Got Ghost?", a hor-medy (horror comedy, a term coined by the duo) that is amusingly presented in three short stories - "Roadside Got Ghost", "Forest Got Ghost" and "House Got Ghost". Debuting at No.1 at the Singapore box office charts, the film is set to release in Malaysia on 10 September 2009 giving good old fashion comedy with an unexpected strange encounter along the way.

During a recent interview with Cinema Online, Boris Boo said "There was a scene in the third story, "House Got Ghost", where one of the extras in the background at the top left corner, a lady in pink pants was standing at a 65-degree incline angle, like Michael Jackson, but without special effects!"

He then added, "She wasn't wired to anything, but she was tilting at a very steep angle and her legs are straight. We were quite surprised and scared in a way. But after clarifying with her, she insisted that she was standing upright throughout the shoot. So when we asked her to do it again, she couldn't. Thus, we decided to include the original take in the film. Go check it out!"

If 'hor-medy' doesn't tickle your fancy, movie goers can catch the Cantonese horror "The Unbelievable", now showing in cinemas. Based on a popular long-running TV programme which explores the unseen and unexplainable, this big screen version follows a film crew to the eerie and mysterious location of Thailand. While they were shooting a new series of the programme, the crew encounters many bizarre and unexpected spooky incidents that will gross you out or scare you silly.
