Jack Neo not here

(L-R) Michelle Tay, Mark Lee and Yeo Yann Yann.

6 Apr - The casts of "Being Human", Mark Lee, Yeo Yann Yann and Michelle Tay, held a press conference recently at Cathay Cineleisure e@Curve to promote the film without the presence of shamed director Jack Neo.

During the conference, the cast divulged that the filming was no easy task especially when Jack Neo had different expectations. "He (Jack Neo) wanted something different from us. I have to admit, he had higher expectations this time around," said the suave-looking Mark Lee before bursting into laughter. Co-star Malaysian actress Yeo Yann Yann said that there was a particular shot, where she had to come through the door, but that shot had to be repeated for about 15 times before the director pulled her aside and told her what was wrong with it. "In the end, we sat down and discussed how we could make the shot slightly better," said Yann Yann who admitted that she learned a thing or two by acting in Neo's movies.

The attention was then focused to the filmmaker's absence, whose portfolio included "Where Got Ghost?," "Ah Long Pte Ltd" and "Money No Enough." "Isn't it obvious why Jack couldn't join us today?" replied Mark rather matter-of-factly, tongue-in-cheek. "Well, he couldn't join us today because he had to be in Taiwan for some collaboration work there. But, he will join us when we begin our promo tour in KL and Penang later," added Mark.

"When he (Neo) made 'Being Human' it was as if the movie was made especially for himself. It was like déjà vu especially during one scene when Taiwan's famous host NoNo's character repeated 'you sow what you reap' over and over again. He was well aware of what's coming next," said Mark. "Right now, all he needs is the support from us. His wife and children is what matters to him now," added Yann Yann.

Scenes from "Being Human", scheduled to screen in cinemas 8 April 2010.
"Being Human" is now playing in Singapore and will show in Malaysia on 8 April 2010!
