14 Dec – Malaysian actress Chelsia Ng is scheduled to shoot a movie in Penang next year as what she describes as a "retro film set in the 1970s".
The 29 year old Penang-born, who previously starred in Afdlin Shauki's award-winning family comedy "Papadom" (2009), politely declined to further elaborate on her upcoming film project, except to reveal that it is not a comedy, but a drama.
With that aside, she is currently prepping up for her untitled music album due early 2011.
Ng has so far written two songs and recorded another two more in Mandarin and English. One of the songs is a ballad with her brother.
An "Oceans" trilogy fan, Ng divulged that her most recent film watched was "The Social Network", commenting that "It was such a good movie! The dialogues were well-written and the editing was sharp."
She also looked forward to watching "The Chronicles Of Narnia: Voyage Of The Dawn Treader", which has topped the Malaysia and Singapore box office over the weekend just gone (9-12 Dec).
When asked about her plans for this Christmas season, she said: "I'll be celebrating my brother's birthday in Penang on Christmas Eve and then I'll be heading back to Kuala Lumpur on Christmas day".
The self-confessed movie lover readily admits to want to catch "Gulliver's Travels" when it opens during the festive period this 23 December as compared to "Meet The Parents: Little Fockers".
"I'm a big fan of 'Gulliver's Travels' stories. When I was younger, my mum would read it to me and my brother every night and would even make up lots of stories until she ran out of ideas!"
When asked if she would watch it in 3D, she exclaimed: "It's in 3D? YES!"
