26 Apr – Malaysian rom-com "Ice Kacang Puppy Love", starring Taiwan-based singer Ah Niu and actress Lee Shinje ("The Eye"), finds no competition in its second weekend at the box office against new Hollywood releases namely "The Losers", "The Crazies", "Toy Story 1 & 2 Double Feature" and local netball flick "Hooperz". As observed in Cinema Online's "Hot Movie Checks", the sweet comedy appears to be a hit with Malaysians as it tops the list for two consecutive weeks, followed by "The Losers", "Kick-Ass", "Clash Of The Titans" and "The Crazies". The movie was also well-received in Singapore as it debuted over the weekend.
Over the weekend, moviegoers could already purchase early tickets to Donnie Yen's "Ip Man 2" and Robert Downey Jr.'s "Iron Man 2", releasing this 29 April and 30 April respectively, while disfigured Freddy Kruger of "A Nightmare On Elm Street" prowled the cinemas of 1 Utama and Pavilion KL. "How To Train Your Dragon" continues to dominate the US box office, topping the charts in its fifth week, while new releases "The Back-Up Plan", "The Losers" and "Oceans" generated little interest and "Kick-Ass" conked out, according to Box Office Mojo.
