Artist impression of building housing LFS Kuala Selangor

7 July – A new 5-screen cineplex will open this coming December in an upcoming three-storey building behind the new Tesco, according to Lotus Five Star Cinemas.

It will be situated on the first floor of an entertainment centre, believed to be called 1 Plaza (now under construction), where there will be bowling, snooker, ballroom and various F&B outlets. The projected total seating capacity is around 700 seats, spread across its five halls.

A senior LFS officer added: "It is only a five-minute drive from Kuala Selangor town centre. There are shoplots with a variety of businesses surrounding us and we are targeting two major colleges (UTM) one in Batang Berjuntai and Kuala Selangor."

The next project by Lotus Five Star Cinemas is a 6-screen outlet in Kampar, Perak.
