27 July – Tamil movie star Rajnikanth will be at Putrajaya International Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur this 31 July 2010 together with "Enthiran" director S. Shankar and comedian Vivek for the international audio launch – however the Kollywood blockbuster title is not confirmed by any distributor in Malaysia or Singapore to be in their release lineup. "Enthiran" (variants: "Endhiran", "Robot", "Robo-speed: 1 Tera Hz memory: 1 Zetta Byte") is reportedly the most expensive film ever made in India, with a worldwide release on 3 September 2010 that is expected to break all known records for an Indian title. Its domestic rights rests within Sun Pictures in India, however after checks with several film distributors here, no one is confirming or denying the regional release of this movie. Rajnikanth's previous monster title "Sivaji The Boss" was distributed in 2007 by Pyramid Saimira in Malaysia but there is no word on "Enthiran" from the organisation nor from other Tamil title distributors such as Lotus Five Star AV, who has declined to elaborate further.
The sci-fi action movie, starring Bollywood darling Aishwarya Rai and scored by ace composer A.R. Rahman, has been in the works for almost three years. The Putrajaya event on Saturday will be telecast live on Astro Vaanavil (Channel 201) and Astro HD Channel 222 in Malaysia. "Endhiran" is scheduled for a worldwide release on 3 September 2010 but a Malaysian and Singaporean release is yet unknown.
