"Shaolin" shoots in China

A young Jet Li in "The Shaolin Temple" (1982)

16 Feb – A reupdate on the hugely successful Mainland Chinese 1982 Jet Li debut flick "The Shaolin Temple" will shoot in China later this month, with Jackie Chan, Andy Lau, Fan Bing Bing, Nicholas Tse and Wu Jing on board, together with the temple authorities. The fighting monks from the famed 1,500 year old temple in central China, regarded as a martial arts shrine, have featured in films by Bruce Lee and the David Carradine 70s hit TV series "Kung Fu".

Hong Kong filmmaker Benny Chan ("New Police Story", "Rob-B-Hood") will direct and Corey Yuen ("Lethal Weapon 4", "X-Men") will serve as action choreographer.

Cinema Online will be making its way to Wing Hong in Hang Zhou for an exclusive coverage of the shoot later this month.
