8 Sept – Fans of KPop, especially stars under the management of SM Entertainment Co., Ltd. should be jumping for joy as representatives from the company has confirmed that the concert in Los Angeles recently will be released as a movie in 3D format soon!
Previously, it was revealed that SM Entertainment had signed a contract with PACE, a company founded by director James Cameron ("Avatar") to produce 3D music videos and concert footages for future DVD sales. A representative in SM confirmed that "SM Town Live '10 World Tour In Los Angeles" was filmed by PACE in 3D, and set to be shown in cinemas in the near future. "The movie will probably be released in theaters between the end of this year and the beginning of next year. We believe it will be popular, not only in Korea, but also in China and Southeast Asia." The annual SM Town Live Concert includes current popular Korean celebrities under SM Entertainment, some with hordes of fans scattered around the world like Super Junior, Girls Generation, BoA, SHINee, f(x), Kangta, TRAX, Yun-ho and Chang Min from TVXQ. PACE has shot music videos for Girls Generation and BoA in 3D, but the concert will be the first Korean concert in 3D format.
"SM Town Live '10 World Tour In Los Angeles" will follow the footsteps of previous 3D concert footages shown in cinemas like "Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert" and "Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience", Michael Jackson's "This Is It", as well as the upcoming Justin Bieber biopic, which will feature concert footages from his world tour. No specific dates set for "SM Town Live '10 World Tour In Los Angeles" for Singapore and Malaysia release at the moment.
