23 Mar – Numerous game sites have been reporting on the possibility of the hit game-turned-movie franchise "Resident Evil" to return with the fifth movie following the success of "Resident Evil: Afterlife" and apparently it is recently confirmed by Sienna Guillory (who played Jill Valentine in the series) via her Twitter account, Screenrant reports. "RE:5 alert! Training begins! I aim to mostly put less in the big hole on the front of my face than comes out of the little one on my arse." The actresses' unabashed tweet reads, confirming all series fans' speculations. When audience last saw Sienna Guillory as Jill Valentine, she was featured briefly in a scene shown during the end credits. It seems that she was leading an Umbrella assault team against Alice, the Redfield siblings and the rest of the main characters in "Resident Evil: Afterlife".
Well enough, Screen Gems has recently set a release date for the franchise's next instalment, temporarily titled Resident Evil 5 to be in September 2012. The entertainment site also reports that Milla Jovovich will most likely reprise her role as Alice and cast members have officially gone into training for the yet to be named fifth film, which is also expected to be in 3D. The fifth instalment will be coming two years after the last one, the shortest wait in between instalments ever for the series. No doubt why though, as the last movie, "Resident Evil: Afterlife" grossed $296 million worldwide, more than the first three films combined.
