2 Mar – LFS Cinemas (Lotus Five Star) recently announced that they have started their official Twitter and also official YouTube page after setting up their fan page on Facebook some months ago.
This follows the current trend of exhibitors in Malaysia dabbling in social media, such as GSC, Cathay Cineplexes, MBO Cinemas and TGV Cinemas, who have been using social media options like Facebook and Twitter to update their customers on upcoming promos and news.
The recent boost in TGV Cinemas branding has been echoed by increased activity on their social media, with active daily updates on Facebook and Twitter that are fast catching up to GSC.
However, Cathay Cineplexes in Malaysia is particularly slow at responding to the fad, with just a profile page and no official Facebook fan page in sight, although the corresponding Singaporean account is very active.
Meanwhile, Lotus Five Star chain's official website (www.lfs.com.my) has also been revamped and is currently under construction.
