30 Nov - Home Box Office (HBO) in Asia has begun shooting scenes for their first-ever Asia-made action-horror feature, "Dead Mine", in a collaborative effort with Singapore-based Infinite Studios and Indonesia's soundstage facilities recently, according to campaign's Asia-Pacific section.

The feature will be in English, and filming is expected to be completed by the end of the year. HBO Asia's spokesman said that "Dead Mine" would feature regionally famous actors, although the cast list had not been finalised yet.

The film will see a theatrical release in yet-to-be-selected Asia-Pacific markets during 2012. Following that it will premiere on HBO Asia television channels throughout Asia-Pacific with tentative plans for an international release on HBO.

Infinite Studios, formerly Infinite Frameworks, an integrated media and entertainment production house is also the co-producer of "Dead Mine". Jonathan Spink, chief executive officer of HBO Asia, says the partnership is an important step for both parties.

"HBO Asia is very excited to be working with Infinite Studios on our very first original feature film co-production," he said. "This is truly another important milestone for HBO Asia."

To that, Mike Wiluan, chief executive officer of Infinite Studios, commented that "I'm delighted at the prospect of working with HBO Asia on their first venture in original content production."

He added, "This unique co-production will be the first under our new incarnation as Infinite Studios, the first to utilise our new soundstage facilities in Batam, Indonesia."
