8 Jul – A recent signing ceremony at CityOne Mall marked the opening confirmation of a Golden Screen Cinemas' (GSC) multiplex, the branch's first chain in Sarawak, which will reportedly be ready for operation next year, according to a press statement released by GSC.

The recent signing ceremony held at City One Mall, Kuching, to mark the state's first GSC multiplex.

Due to open in the second half of 2012, the 10-screen multiplex which will feature movies in 35mm and also in Digital-3D format, with an estimated seating capacity of 1,800, will be located in CityOne Mall, Kuching, and will be equipped with ergonomically designed chairs and ample leg room similar with the chain's other branches.

GSC CityOne Mall will also be adapting a 'green concept', in line with its corporate social responsibility effort by using bio-degradable plastic bags, energy saving light bulbs and air conditioning units.

GSC's current facilities such as the SelfPrint ticketing system and the GSC Mobile App for iPhones will also available for utilisation at the multiplex.

Besides GSC CityOne Mall, there will be 5 other multiplexes due for next year, including one reported to be located at the currently under construction mall; Paradigm at Kelana Jaya.
