Hong Kong superstar, Andy Lau in "Shaolin"

5 Jan – Asian superstar Andy Lau and renowned director Benny Chan, famous for his directorial works such as "Rob-B-Hood" and "New Police Story" will be conducting a press conference, media interviews and an appearance at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur on 19 January 2011 to promote their latest martial arts action movie "Shaolin", according to a press release by GSC Distribution.

On an interesting note, "Shaolin" also marks the partnership of Lau and Chan after their last collaboration in "A Moment Of Romance" 21 years ago.

Fans and movie enthusiasts will get a chance to meet Andy Lau and director Benny Chan in person at 7.00pm on 19 January 2011, Wednesday at Centre Court, Level 2 of the mall besides having the chance to participate in the stage games and walk away with fantastic movie merchandise and prizes.

Apart from the mall appearance, the duo will also be at GSC Pavilion Kuala Lumpur to grace the "Shaolin" gala premiere on the same night before making a pit-stop at Singapore for the meet and greet session over there on the very next day, 20 January 2011.

With a production budget of US$25 million, "Shaolin" is touted as 2011's Chinese New Year martial arts extravaganza, starring some of Asia's biggest casts including Andy Lau, Nicholas Tse and martial arts superstar, Jackie Chan.

A special "Shaolin" movie showcase will also be running for fans and movie lovers at the 6th Floor Link Bridge of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur from 11 January till 6 February 2011 as well as chances to win gala premiere invites, movie tickets and movie merchandise from selected movie partners during the duration.

"Shaolin" follows the story of a fallen young, arrogant warlord named Hao Jie (Andy Lau) who had to repent and seek refuge with the Shaolin monks after he was betrayed by his own power-hungry right-hand man. Together, Hao Jie and the Shaolin masters are forced to take a fiery stand against his betrayer for justice and peace to prevail once again.

"Shaolin" will be showing at the cinemas in Singapore on 20 January 2011 and in Malaysia on 27 January 2011.
