Rice's Vampires back in cinemas

8 Feb – The popular "Vampire Chronicles" writer Anne Rice's "The Tale Of The Body Thief" will be making its way to the big screen following her novels "Interview With The Vampire" and "Queen Of The Damned" that were previously adapted into movies, according to a report on ComingSoon.net.

The news comes after Ron Howard and Brain Grazer's Imagine Entertainment had secured the rights to the novel which follows the Vampire Lestat (previously played by Tom Cruise in "Interview With The Vampire" and Stuart Townsend in "Queen Of The Damned") once again, who this time after suffering from depression, meets a mysterious figure who lets him switch bodies to experience being a human again after hundreds of years of being an immortal.

"Interview With The Vampire" was released in 1994 starring Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Antonio Banderas, Christian Slater and Kristen Dunst. Its sequel, "Queen Of The Damned" was released in 2002 starring Stuart Townsend and the late Aaliyah.

Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci ("Transformers") are attached to produce the adaptation with Lee Patterson providing the screenplay.
