21 Nov – Since opening its doors in 2006, Cathay Cineplex at e@Curve Damansara will launch four more halls tomorrow, 22 November 2012, now bringing it up to a total of 16 screens with an overall seating capacity of 2,472.
Establishing it as the cinema with the largest number of halls in the Petaling Jaya area, the cineplex is also set to launch a brand new look slated to be ready by the year end.
Apart from the one mentioned in Damansara, Cathay also has another cineplex located at City Square Johor Bahru where the latter currently has 10 halls.
With its current standing of 16 halls, Cathay Cineplex e@Curve is just two halls shy from taking over the 18 hall GSC Mid Valley, KL, as the nation's biggest cineplex.
Along with the launch of the four new additional halls at Cathay Cineplex, e@Curve Damansara, tomorrow marks an auspicious day for the cinema industry as two other cinema related developments will be taking place as well. The first is the opening of the new 8 hall TGV cinema at SetiaWalk Mall, Puchong, while the other is the opening of the 9 hall MBO Citta Mall, Ara Damansara which will see to the launch of its first 4 operational halls.
