20 Apr – Following the unveiling of Shu Qi's scandalous past as a porn actress before her rise to fame, the media is determined to dig up more skeletons in the closet, and Hong Kong actor and martial artist extraordinaire, Donnie Yen, is the latest victim as an online post in several Chinese forums alleged that the star used to be in porn films, according to Daily Chilli. Titled "Don Yen acted in porn film, surrounded by 10 naked women", the post has aroused much discussion and debate among netizens. It was made in response to Shu Qi's withdrawal from the Chinese microblogging site, Weibo, after her scandal. The story goes that before his breakthrough role in "Ip Man", Yen had appeared in several porn films during the 90's in order to eke his way in the industry, and one of these films was "The Holy Virgin Versus The Evil Dead". "You think only Shu Qi acted in porn? Donnie didn't? You are wrong! See you all complained that Shu Qi acted in this and that every day, you think Donnie only innocently shot kung fu movies?" wrote the user. The user added, "I have seen three porn films of Donnie. He has four all together, three of which were horror movies." The user also posted a few clips of the film to prove the statements. Needless to say, this latest controversy reached Yen's ears, and he responded by posting two lines of lyrics from Sam Hui and the late Leslie Cheung's song "Silence is Golden", which was, "Let people laugh and scold as they like, be a carefree person." Yen is set to appear in "The Monkey King" next, which will be released in China on 7 July, but is currently undated in Malaysia and Singapore.
