9 Feb – Malaysian director Adrian Teh, Penang-born singer-actor-director Aniu and Hong Kong star Elanne Kwong were recently in Kuala Lumpur to promote their new romantic comedy, "The Wedding Diary". The stars kicked off their tour by attending a Wedding Parade at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. Led by Aniu and Kwong the parade witnessed 18 pairs of newlyweds exchanging marriage vows. The couples present were seen exchanging not only vows, but watches from Solvil et Titus, one of the sponsors of the movie. Then, the trio headed bustled on for a press conference, a 'Meet and Greet' session, as well as the gala premiere of "The Wedding Diary" which took place at JW Marriott Hotel, Cheras Leisure Mall and GSC Pavilion KL respectively. Teh, who directed 2010's "Lelio Popo", thought that "The Wedding Diary" was suitable to be watched by audiences that were craving for marriage, newlyweds and also people who had been through marriage before, but was currently single. Aniu shared that his own real-life wedding was a modest affair compared to his character in the movie, "I just invited my family as well as my wife's family members to a simple meal," said Aniu. 25-year-old Kwong however expressed that she was glad to collaborate with Aniu in the movie, "I worked with charming actors like Nicholas Tse and Shawn Yue in the past, but Aniu is the most handsome actor I have ever worked with in my career." She also explained that she had fallen in love with filming in Malaysia and Singapore, adding that the storyline in "The Wedding Diary" was the sweetest script she has ever acquired in her eight-year movie career. "This movie made me realize that having a wedding requires a lot of work. I don't hope for glamorous wedding anymore. I just want to keep everything simple and marry my lover at an island without wedding attires in the future." "The Wedding Diary", is a Malaysian-Singaporean joint production film which will be released simultaneously in both Malaysia and Singapore this 9 February. Shot mainly in Penang and Singapore, the movie follows the hilarious but touching journey of planning a wedding between Wei Jie (Aniu), a humble Hokkien engineer from Penang, and a Singaporean-Cantonese rich girl, Zhi Xin (Kwong). "The Wedding Diary" also stars Kara Hui, the two-time winner of the Hong Kong Film Awards, Zhu Houren, Chris Tong and was produced by Clover Films Pte Ltd, OneTree Holdings, GSC Movies Sdn Bhd, Mega Cineplex and Asia Tropical Films Sdn Bhd. "The Wedding Diary" comes to cinemas in Malaysia and Singapore this 9 February 2012.
