26 Sep – Coining Anne Hathaway as the next female action star in Hollywood is not a bad idea at all after pulling off the role as Catwoman in Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises". This time, the American actress is once again hoping for the action route to battle robots in director Steven Spielberg's new sci-fi project "Robopocalyse", according to First Showing. "Robopocalyse" is an adaptation of the New York Times best-selling science fiction book of the same name by author-robotics engineer Daniel H.Wilson and it also marks Spielberg's return to the sci-fi genre since "War Of The Worlds" back in 2005. The film follows a story set in the aftermath of the rising of robots and machines in the future. The entire automated world of robots has been reprogrammed and have turned against human beings. As a result, the human race get themselves into huge war against the robot rebellion. Besides having Hathaway as the top choice for the female lead, "Thor" actor Chris Hemsworth might also land a key role in the sci-fi thriller. Meanwhile, it was reported that recently departed 20th Century Fox chairman and CEO Tom Rothman, has confirmed to produce "Robopocalyse" as a co-production of Fox and DreamWorks.
The anticipated movie's production will begin next year and it is set for U.S release on 25 April 2014. Fans will next see Hathaway playing Fantine, a struggling factory worker and mother of an illegitimate child in Tom Hooper's "Les Miserables", alongside Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe which will be out in Malaysia and Singapore on 27 December 2012.
