Jonah Hill rejoins "Django Unchained"

Rising star Jonah Hill was last seen as Schmidt in the film adaptation of "21 Jump Street".

18 June – It has been revealed that recently Oscar-nominee Jonah Hill has accepted the offer to appear in a small role in Quentin Tarantino's highly anticipated western flick, "Django Unchained", despite turning down the offer to play a bigger role previously due to his busy schedule.

According to Deadline, Hill was first slated to play Scott Harmony, the person who gave away the wife of slave-turned-bounty hunter Django (Jamie Foxx) to the sinister plantation owner Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio) after losing a bet. However, Hill had to turn down the offer due to his packed schedule, which will see him co-starring with DiCaprio in another big budget production, "The Wolf of Wall Street".

The Weinstein Company did not reveal the new role that Hill would now be playing, although it is expected to be one that is significantly smaller than Scott Harmony, so that it would not take up too much of Hill's time from his other attachments.

"Django Unchained" tells the story of a slave who is freed by a bounty hunter, Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz) in return for his help, which then saw him being trained by Stephen in the ways of bounty hunting, before going to rescue Django's wife, Broomhilda (Kerry Washington), from the plantation owner Calvin Candie and his loyal henchman Stephen (Samuel L. Jackson).

"Django Unchained" is currently slated for release on 24 January 2013 in Malaysia and Singapore.
