2 Jul – Production for the sequel of Malaysian director Adrian Teh's "Wedding Diary" has officially begun and it will bring new familial conflicts to the hit romantic comedy starring Malaysian actor-director Ah Niu and Hong Kong actress Elanne Kwong.

"Wedding Diary 2" picks up two years after the marriage of Wei Jie (Ah Niu) and Zhixin (Elanne), when they welcome a new and unexpected addition to their family. However, all is not well for Wei Jie's in-laws when Zhixin's father, Colin (Jack Choo) suffers a stroke, which puts a strain on the couple's relationship as Zhixin has to step up to handle her father's business and at the same time, ensure that her mother (Kara Hui) does not fall into depression and anxiety due to her husband's condition.

Meanwhile, Wei Jie's father (Ah Sai) is expanding his own salt fish business but the added responsibilities create a rift between him and his son, who decides to resign from his job to be a stay-at home father as Zhixin will be too busy. To make it all worse, a girl named Reese (Cynthia Wong) barges into the life of Wei Jie and Zhixin, claiming to be Colin's illegitimate daughter from his affair.

"Wedding Diary 2" is produced by Clover Films in collaboration with Golden Screen Cinemas, Asia Tropical Films, Fox International Channels and STAR Chinese Movies, with a budget of SG$1.2 million.

Filming will take place mostly in Singapore and Penang. The sequel is aiming for a release date on the 2013 Lunar New Year.
