15 Nov – Previously, it was reported that Robert Downey Jr. is set to produce "The Judge" as a starring vehicle, with director David Dobkins's to helm the camera and now, it is revealed that multiple Academy Award winner and nominee Jack Nicholson has been offered a role as well. According to Collider, "The Judge" is set to be a comedy drama film that centres on an attorney who returns home for his mother's funeral only to discover that his estranged father, who is a judge suffering from Alzheimer's, is suspected of murder. Of course, the attorney is played by Downey Jr. while 75-year-old Nicholson is set to play his father. David Dobkin, who directed another comedy drama titled "The Change-Up", is set to direct and produce alongside Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey. A few individuals have already been reported to be rewriting "The Judge", such as David Seidler and Bill Dubuque. The film's screenplay was originally penned by Nick Schenk.
For Downey Jr., who just wrapped on "Iron Man 3", "The Judge" is likely to be his next picture if they could land Nicholson as soon as possible. Meanwhile, Nicholson has only taken on only four movies in the last decade; two of which were Martin Scorsese's "The Departed" and Rob Reiner's "The Bucket List".
