22 Jun – Popular comedian-actor Jim Carrey has reportedly confirmed that he is no longer on board to reprise his role as Lloyd Christmas in the sequel to the Farrelly Brothers' "Dumb and Dumber". According to Entertainment Tonight, Carrey recently released a statement that he will not be appearing in "Dumber and Dumber To", citing the 'lack of enthusiasm' of studios New Line and Warner Brothers, as the main reasons that he left the project entirely as it frustrated him. "I would have thought "Dumb and Dumber" To was a no-brainer, after all it's implied in the title," he said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. It should be noted that while co-lead Jeff Daniels and the Farrelly brothers were looking forward to a sequel, Carrey's return had been doubtful as the actor had gained a reputation for not wanting to do sequels aside from "Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls" (he was absent for sequels for both "The Mask" and "Bruce Almighty"). Currently, it is uncertain what would happen to the project with the departure of one of its lead star.
