Alan Ritchson as "Ninja Turtle"

Alan Ritchson to play Raphael in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles".

26 Mar – "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" is currently not the biggest project in Alan Ritchson's working schedule as the hunky actor is officially attached to play Raphael in Michael Bay's highly-anticipated CGI feature "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", according to Deadline.

Following word that Megan Fox is taking up the female lead role as April O'Neil last month, Ritchson, 28, is the latest to join the cast line-up, and he will play the Ninja Turtle known for his red bandana and twin sai weapons. His character is considered to be the most aggressive fighter among the anthropomorphic turtles which also consists of Leonardo, Donatello and Michelangelo.

In the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" reboot directed by Jonathan Liebesman and produced by Bay, the actors will be donning motion-capture suits like what James Cameron did with his cast in "Avatar", instead of bulky turtle suits.

Alan Ritchson as Aquaman in "Smallville".

Little-known Ritchson was a former contestant in "American Idol" back in 2004 before he got the role as Aquaman in The WB Television Network series "Smallville", as well as playing Thad Castle, a senior football team captain in "Blue Mountain State".

The North Dakota-born actor will next be seen as Gloss, a former tribute champion who competes in the Quarter Quell in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire", alongside the original cast of the Lionsgate production including Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson and Elizabeth Banks.
