"Anchorman" sequel hits New York

The cast of "Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy" celebrating when they heard about the big move.

1 Mar – While you have already heard about the comedy classic getting a sequel, what you may not know are the exciting new details that hint at what the storyline might be, and what direction it is heading as the characters will move to New York.

"San Diego is too close to Ron's heart to go away, but we feel that New York City is the Holy Grail for all newsmen," said director Adam McKay.

The comedy, which will feature the original's stars like Will Ferrell as Ron Burgundy, Steve Carrell as Brick Tamland, Christina Applegate as Veronica Corningstone and Paul Rudd as Brian Fantana, it will also feature some new faces like Kristen Wiig from "Bridesmaids".

Wiig's character is also confirmed to be Brick Tamland's love interest so that should be interesting.

Kristen Wiig of "Bridesmaids" will join the cast of "Anchorman 2".

Also confirmed to be starring alongside the cast is James Marsden of "Enchanted" and "X-Men", who is said to be taking on the role as a rival news anchor.

The sequel is reported to have more mayhem than the original, and is expected to hit theatres this year in late December.
