Azean Irdawaty passes away


Actress Azean Irdawaty passed away yesterday evening.

18 Dec –Veteran local actress Azean Irdawaty lost her 5-year battle with cancer as she passed away yesterday evening at University Malaya Medical Centre due to complications from a liver failure.

The 63-year-old actress was last seen in the late Yasmin Ahmad film "Talentime".

She started her career in the 70s as a singer which then led her to an acting role with her first movie "Esok Masih Ada" in 1979.

She has since starred in many movies and television dramas with the more notable ones being "Mama Oh Mama", "Waris Jari Hantu", "Mami Jarum Kembali" and more.

The two time Malaysian Film Festival Best Actress award winner for "Esok Masih Ada" and "Langit Petang" has been laid to rest at the Bukit Kiara cemetery earlier today.
