10 Feb – While "Kick-Ass" star Aaron Johnson, or Aaron Taylor-Johnson as he likes to be called recently, is still only rumoured to be joining an upcoming "Godzilla" movie, whether or not he will eventually be confirmed is just icing on the cake as the likes of Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth Olsen are in talks to join the reboot. Bryan Cranston, who stars in critically-acclaimed television series "Breaking Bad" where he has won several Emmy's and Golden Globes for his portrayal of Walter White, was also seen in Nicolas Winding-Refn's "Drive" and played a villain in a recent remake of "Total Recall". He had also recently played a part in "Argo", a strong Oscar contender. The talented younger Olsen sister, Elizabeth, who starred in indie film "Martha Marcy May Marlene", will also join "Godzilla", possibly as Aaron Johnson's love interest.
"Monsters" director Gareth Edwards had discussed making a Godzilla film at last year's Comic-Con, and plans to treat the Japanese film icon as a real-life apocalyptic event, similar to the original black and white film. "Godzilla" will aim to open in theatres next year.
