24 Sep – Donnie Yen, who's famous for starring in films like "Ip Man" and "Painted Skin" is finally back for more of the action genre with "Special ID". The actor is also set to appear in Malaysia to promote the film next month!
After an absence of 6 years from the modern action movie world, Yen returns as a main actor, action director and film producer in "Special ID"", and it will be filled with his signature hybrid-mixed martial arts style, combined with a gritty realism and well-crafted characters.
"Donnie Yen takes this film very seriously," states the local distributor of the film RAM Entertainment, "His strong involvement in the film probably ensures that "Special ID" will once again set the bar for other action movies in the years to come."
Malaysia will be Donnie Yen's first stop as he tours Asia to promote the film. He will be dropping by Paradigm Mall, Kelana Jaya for an opportunity to meet the fans for his only public event. Immediately after Malaysia, he would be jetting off to Taipei, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and other countries to continue his promotional tour.
Donnie Yen will play an undercover cop/gangster in "Special ID", who grows wary of his life after straddling the line between good and bad for too long. He fights to gain release from his conflicting life, and to gain back what he has lost.
The actor will make his way to Malaysia on 10 October, and the film is set to be released on 18 October this year.
