5 Dec – As reported on Empire Online, the yet-to-be-titled fifth instalment of the Bourne franchise will star "The Bourne Legacy" lead actor, Jeremy Renner, who is to reprise his role as Aaron Cross. Justin Lin, who directed the last four "Fast & Furious" movies for the studio will be directing the film as well as producing alongside Frank Marshall, Jeffrey Weiner, and Ben Smith.
In its announcement on 2 December, the distributor revealed that the new Bourne movie, inspired by Robert Ludlum's book series, is slated for release on 14 August 2015. This will be Renner's second time leading the Bourne series. The first three movies starred Matt Damon as the titular character, Jason Bourne. Meanwhile, Universal also announced it would release a new Scarlett Johansson-starrer, "Lucy" next year, to be directed by Luc Besson.
