14 Aug - Moviegoers in Klang can now look forward to a new cinema in their area as Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) is set to open a 8-screen cinema at Klang Parade in 2014. Closed since July this year for renovation work after being bought by closed-end fund ARA Asia Dragon Fund, Klang Parade Shopping Mall which is expected to reopen by year's end, had just announced plans for a new cinema after a tenant signing ceremony held with GSC earlier today. The 8-screen cinema is set to open in the first half of 2014 to join the Klang cinema scene which is currently home to 5 other cinemas. Currently, the cinemas in Klang are; the 8-screen TGV Bukit Raja, 10-screen TGV Bukit Tinggi, 11-screen MBO Harbour Place, 2-screen LFS Sri Intan and the 4-screen LFS Shaw Centrepoint. As for the latest GSC cinema, in April 2013 a 10-screen GSC CityOne Kuching was opened. It is GSC's first cinema in the city of Kuching and the second in state of Sarawak after GSC Miri which opened in January 2013. The upcoming cinemas on GSC's expansion list are GSC Palm Mall Seremban (10-screen) and GSC Nu Sentral KL which will house 11-screens. But the plan does not stop there as a 13-screen GSC IOI, Putrajaya and 10-screen GSC Aman Central, Alor Setar have been confirmed for the year 2014.
