GSC Pelangi Mall closes 17 Oct

GSC Pelangi Leisure Mall will cease operations tomorrow.

16 Oct – Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) has just announced that GSC Pelangi Leisure Mall in Johor Bharu will be closing as of 17 October 2013. The cinema will still continue with their screenings for today which will be their last.

According to Tan Gaik Lian, GSC's marketing manager for corporate communications and branding, the cinema is closing "upon our Management's rationalising the overall performance of GSC cinemas with the primary focus on serving our customers better."

GSC Pelangi Leisure Mall is the cinema exhibitor's only outlet in Johor Bahru. Following its closure, moviegoers nearby and from Singapore will have to visit TGV Tebrau City, TGV Bukit Indah, Cathay City Square, MBO U Mall, MBO KSL City, LFS Perling Mall, LFS Broadway, LFS Plaza Tasik Skudai LFS Skudai Parade, LFS IOI Mall Kulai, Superstar Ulu Tiram and Suara Screens JB to get their movie fix.

GSC Pelangi Leisure Mall commenced business on 16 December 1995. The outlet has five halls with a total seating capacity of 2361.
