11 Jul – The highly popular Disney film "The Jungle Book" that many of us kids grew up with, will be rebooted as a live-action film, also by Disney. The film is reportedly in its early pre-production phase and is currently looking for a director for the live-action film. This is not the first time that "The Jungle Book" has been adapted into a live-action film. There have been several versions such as "Jungle Book" in 1942, "Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book" in 1994 and "The Jungle Book: Mowgli's Story" in 1998, among others.
Screenwriter Justin Marks, who is known for the 2009 "Street Fighter: The Legend Of Chun-Li" has already signed on to pen the script for the upcoming live-action reboot. No other details have been revealed. Aside from "The Jungle Book", Disney's will be releasing "Maleficient", which is loosely based on their 1959 animated musical fantasy "Sleeping Beauty". told from the perspective of the princess' evil nemesis, Maleficent, the film is scheduled for release on 2 July 2014, starring Angelina Jolie as the title character.
