20 May – It is still quite a while before "The Smurfs 2" is released in cinemas, but fans of the blue creatures can meet them first at Cathay Cineplex JB City Square, Johor, this weekend, on 25 and 26 May 2013. On 23 May 2013, Cathay Cineplex JB City Square added four new screens, boosting the total to 14 screens. The appearances of Papa Smurf, Smurfette and Clumsy are to commemorate the launch of the location's 14 screens. The 'Meet and Greet' sessions with the Smurfs will be held at 2pm at Level 6, Cathay Cineplex JB City Square and 4pm at Innercity, Level 3 & 4, JB City Square on both days. Not only can fans, moviegoers and shoppers have their picture taken with Papa Smurf, Smurfette and Clumsy, they can also participate in the 'Q&A' session to win "The Smurfs 2" activity books and bookmarks, movie tickets and popcorn vouchers. "The Smurfs 2" is out in cinemas in Malaysia on 8 August 2013 and Singapore on 7 August 2013.
