"Negaraku" now playing in cinemas

Communication and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek greeting the public at Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) Pavilion.

29 Aug – As planned, the Merdeka promotional clips and "Negaraku" began playing in cinemas yesterday and will continue to play before each movie screening until 3 September.

Communication and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek was present to witness the launch of the Merdeka promotional clips and national anthem before a screening of James Wan's "The Conjuring" at Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) Pavilion.

When asked why, Ahmad Shabery Cheek explained, "Although he films Hollywood movies, James Wan is born a Malaysian, and "The Conjuring" has performed very successfully in box offices worldwide, so we are proud to be able to open this event with his horror film."

The crowd readily stood up when the "Negaraku" was played.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister, YB Dato' Jailani Johari visited TGV in KLCC and Head Secretary YBhg Dato' Sri Kamaruddin Siaraf visited Cathay Cineplex at eCurve for the same reason.

The two clips entitled "Tanah Tumpahnya Darahku" and "Pesanan Terakhir" will be played at 123 cinemas nationwide.
