25 Jul – It is already great news that Penelope Cruz has given birth to her second child with husband Javier Bardem, but what makes the news even more interesting is that their baby's birth is on the same day as the Royal baby. The Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton had given birth to a baby boy at St Mary's Hospital in London, weighing in at 8Ibs, 6oz, and is the third in line to the throne. Cruz and Bardem's baby, however, is a baby girl. Cruz and Bardem, who wed in July 2010, are already parents to son Leo, who is now two years old. Their daughter is as yet unnamed.
Cruz was pregnant with her second child at the same time her younger sister, Monica Cruz, was pregnant with her first. Monica, 36, welcomed her first child, a baby girl, via an anonymous sperm donor in May 2013. While the Royals are expected to inform the public about their child, Cruz and Bardem are notoriously private and kept the details of their first child under wraps as long as possible. "The fact that my son's father and I have chosen to do the work we do doesn't give anybody the right to invade our privacy," stated Cruz recently.
