1 May – Berjaya is launching their third Short Film Competition for Malaysians aged 18 to 25 years to share their inspiring work and stories through film. The contest is aimed to encourage youth to express their creativity and showcase their filmmaking talent based on one of these four themes, Harmony, Celebrate, Animals or Mother Earth.
The entries will be shortlisted by a panel of judges who are also film producers like Afdlin Shauki, Ah Niu, Gayathri Pilai and Datuk Paduka Shuhaimi Baba. The panel of judges will shortlist 10 of the best entries. The competition is now open for entries which must be submitted by 26 August, and the grand prize winner will get RM30,000 in cash and a Canon EOS 5D Mark III camera. The 10 shortlisted short films will be shown online at berjayayouth.com as well as at a special awards ceremony which will be held later this year.
