20 Feb – Two of 2011's critically-received local films, "Songlap" and "Bunohan", are set to compete for the Best Film award on 2 March 2013 in Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), where the 25th Malaysian Film Festival (FFM) will be held. "Songlap" received 14 nominations in total, with 6 for Creative Awards and 8 for Prime awards while "Bunohan" was nominated for 13, with 5 for Creative Awards and 8 for Prime Awards.
A total of five films are in the running, with fellow 2011 release, "Ombak Rindu", and 2012 films "S.A.M." and "29 Februari" rounding up the nominees. "Songlap" and "Bunohan" will first compete at the Creative Awards, which will be held on a separate date, on 27 February 2013 at eCurve Damansara.
