"The Wolf Of Wall Street" will be Martin Scorsese's longest film to date.

1 Dec – If you thought only Peter Jackson can make three-hour films, wait till you hear about Martin Scorsese's "The Wolf Of Wall Street"; the film is going to be 179 minutes long.

The film was originally planned to be 165 minutes long, before it was rumoured that Scorsese will increase the film by 20 minutes. Now, apparently the film is 179 minutes long, including the credits, which is only a minute longer than Scorsese's longest film, "Casino", which was released in 1995.

The film also almost netted the controversial NC-17 rating due to the "abundant, explicit sex", but Scorsese "agreed to trim certain scenes of nudity and sex" in order to guarantee an R-rating. This also means that there is a higher possibility that the film will go ahead with its planned release in Malaysia.

Based on Jordan Belfort's memoir of the same name, "The Wolf Of Wall Street" tells the story of a New York stockbroker who is indicted in a large securities fraud case involving corruption on Wall Street and money laundering. Leonardo DiCaprio stars as Jordon Belfort, with Jonah Hill, Matthew McConaughey, Jean Dujardin, Margot Robbie and Kyle Chandler bringing up the rear.

TGV Cinemas will be distributing the biographical black comedy film in Malaysia, and it is set to hit cinemas on 2 January 2014. There is still no release date schedule for Singapore.
