2 Jul – According to MTV.com, Carrie Fisher's 21 years-old daughter, Billie Lourd has been cast to play the role of young Princess Leia in the latest installment of the "Star Wars' franchise, "Star Wars: Episode VII". Based on the reports in The Sun, the reason Lourd was cast for the role is because of her similarity and likeness with her mother, Carrie Fisher. She will feature in flashback scenes as a younger version of Princess Leia. A source told The Sun, "Billie flew into the UK to join her mother earlier this month. She will even have her hair tied up in Princess Leia-style buns. She's an aspiring actress and singer so she grabbed the opportunity with both hands. Carrie backed the move as she wanted somebody in her family to play her most-famous role."
Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher are reprising their roles of Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia respectively in the upcoming "Star Wars" film, "Star Wars: Episode VII" and they will be join by new cast addition; John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Lupita Nyong'o, Gwendoline Christie and Max von Sydow. "Star Wars: Episode VII", is scheduled for a December 18th, 2015 release in the U.S.
