Carrie Fisher's daughter, Billie Lourd (Left) is set to play the role of young Princess Leia.

2 Jul – According to MTV.com, Carrie Fisher's 21 years-old daughter, Billie Lourd has been cast to play the role of young Princess Leia in the latest installment of the "Star Wars' franchise, "Star Wars: Episode VII".

Based on the reports in The Sun, the reason Lourd was cast for the role is because of her similarity and likeness with her mother, Carrie Fisher. She will feature in flashback scenes as a younger version of Princess Leia.

A source told The Sun, "Billie flew into the UK to join her mother earlier this month. She will even have her hair tied up in Princess Leia-style buns.
