Tom Cruise ready for battle once again.

20 Nov – Summit Entertainment is reportedly eyeing "Edge of Tomorrow" star Tom Cruise for a role in its upcoming reboot of 1986's action fantasy film, "Highlander".

According to TheWrap, Summit is interested in offering Cruise the role of Ramirez, played by Sean Connery in the original version.

"Highlander" tells the age-old battle of two immortal warriors, where an immortal Scottish swordsman goes on a quest for revenge against The Kurgan, a barbarian who has chased him across time. The film starred Christopher Lambert as Connor MacLeod and Connery as his wise mentor Ramirez.

Cedric Nicolas-Troyan, visual effects supervisor of 2012's "Snow White and the Huntsmen", is ready to make his big screen directorial debut with this reboot. Justin Lin, originally set to direct, is now attached to the project as executive producer.

It remains to be seen whether Cruise will agree to join the reboot since according to his representative, Cruise is "far from talks" and "he is offered tons of projects."

Tom Cruise will be cruising onto the big screen in his upcoming 2015 film, "Mission: Impossible 5".
