19 Sep – It is official! The long awaited Marvel "X-Men" spin-off film featuring the snarky mutant mercenary, "Deadpool" is coming to the big screen with Ryan Reynolds expected to reprise his role as the title character. The news was confirmed by Twentieth Century Fox as they have already hired VFX artist and co-founder of Blur Studio, Tim Miller to make his directorial debut for the film. "Zombieland" writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick will be in charge of the screenplay of the film which was originally set to be rated PG-13, but the rating was later reconsidered to an R-rating with the possible addition of gore. Deadpool, also known as Wade Wilson, is an anti-hero that has been appearing in Marvel Comics. He is a disfigured and mentally unstable mercenary who originally appeared as a villain in an issue of "New Mutants", the spin-off of the "X-Men" franchise comic series. Deadpool is known for his humorous and talkative nature along with his sarcastic remarks. His tendency to break the fourth wall is usually used by writers for humorous effect.
Reynolds previously portrayed Wade Wilson aka. Deadpool in the 2009 film, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" as one of the antagonists, and is expected to reprise his role in the upcoming "Deadpool" movie, however Hollywood Reporter claimed that no deal is set for the actor yet. "Deadpool" is officially scheduled for a release on 12 February 2016 in America with a date for Asia still unconfirmed.
