De Niro and Efron to star in "Dirty Grandpa"


Zac Efron and Robert De Niro will act as an odd pair of grandfather and grandson Dan Mazer's comedy, "Dirty Grandpa".

7 Sep – Golden Globe Award actor, Robert De Niro and "High School Musical" star, Zac Efron are teaming up as a pair of grandfather and grandson in the Universal road trip comedy film, "Dirty Grandpa" as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

The upcoming comedy follows a perverted grandpa (De Niro) who forceds his grandson (Efron) to go on a road trip with him to Florida for spring break because he thinks his grandson is about to marry the wrong woman.

"The Dictator" and "Borat" writer, Dan Mazer will act as the director and screenwriter for the comedy with Barry Josephson as the producer. The film will be financed by QED International to shop the project at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Last year, Efron starred as the main lead in comedy film, "Bad Neighbours" along with Seth Rogen in which the film received positive reviews from critics and grossed over USD266 million globally.

De Niro is currently in production for another upcoming comedy film entitled "The Intern" along with Anne Hathaway.
