1 Apr - Disney Animation's hit film "Frozen", inspired by Hans Christian Anderson's "The Snow Queen" fairytale, is now the highest grossing animated film in box office history! The Academy Award winning musical had just topped USD$1 billion (RM3.26 billion) in global sales. The previous animated-film box office champion was 2010's "Toy Story 3," which earned up to USD$1.063 billion in sales, according to Box Office Mojo, like "Frozen" the film is also distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. "Frozen", which stayed in the top 10 films on domestic box office charts for more than three months, has also now become the 10th-largest grossing film in cinema history.
"Frozen" is the story of a Scandinavian princess Anna who must reconnect with her sister Elsa, the Queen, who has the power of freezing anything into ice with her hands and accidentally sets off a long winter that is destroying their kingdom. "Frozen" was voiced by Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, Josh Gad and Santino Fontana. Earlier this year, the film won two Oscars for best animated feature and best original song for "Let It Go".
