28 Aug – It has been revealed that "Lagenda Budak Setan 3: Kasyah" will be the concluding movie of the famous local trilogy as no more movies are planned to follow the instalment. "Lagenda Budak Setan" series scriptwriter, Ahadiat Akashah who is also the original writer for the "Lagenda Budak Setan" novel, said that he allowed film director, Sharad Sharan to edit, cut, add in and alter the element of the stories to fit into the final 2-hour movie. Many fans may feel dissatisfied that the popular series adapted from one of the famous Malay romance novels is about to meet its end, but scriptwriter Ahadiat explained that he did his best to make the movie as close to the novel as possible. "There is no way that I can squeeze the whole content of my novel into a 2-hour movie, I can only alter and change the script to accommodate the film medium, just as long as it does not stray from the main essence of the story and characters," said the Ahadiat when met during the press preview recently.
He further added, "Adaptation does not mean that you have to take exactly what is written in the novel and make it into a film. That is not adaptation, that is simply a copy paste!" "Adaptation is a process where you take the main essence of the novel and retell the story in a different way," continued Ahadiat during the press preview at GSC, Mid Valley.
"Lagenda Budak Setan 3: Kasyah" is the sequel of "Lagenda Budak Setan 2: Katerina" and it will arrive in cinemas on 11 September 2014. The film stars Farid Kamil and Maya Karin as the main lead and Bront Palarae, Iqram Dinzly and Ayu Raudhah in supporting roles.
