Martin Lawrence announces "Bad Boys 3"

The "Bad Boys" are making a return.

14 Aug – During his appearance on television talk show "Conan", Sir Martin Lawrence dropped a bombshell when he revealed that "Bad Boy 3" is in the making.

He announced that he was working on another project with Michael Bay and said that producer Jerry Bruckheimer has confirmed a screenplay for "Bad Boys 3" is being developed.

The first "Bad Boy" movie came out in 1995. In the action comedy movie, Lawrence and Will Smith played the detective duo who had to investigate a stolen heroin case while protecting a murder witness. The movie marked Michael Bay's directorial debut. The sequel "Bad Boys II" was released eight years later, still starring Lawrence and Smith and still directed by Michael Bay. Jerry Bruckheimer was the producer for both movies as well.

After eleven long years, fans are understandably excited to hear about the possible reunion of detectives Marcus Burnett and Mike Lowrey in a long-awaited sequel. The second "Bad Boy" movie was a darker and more violent affair compared to the first one. Fans are now anticipating the third movie to be just as gritty, if not more.

There is no word yet whether Will Smith will return as one half of the fun-cracking detectives. However, the possibility is there since Lawrence gave a shout out to Smith about it back in July.
