Looks like everyone is blown away by "Into the Storm" as it manages to land in the top three in the U.S., Malaysia and Singapore weekend box office chart.
In the U.S., "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" collected a weekend gross of USD 65.5 million, beating "Guardians of the Galaxy" by approximately USD 23.4 million, claiming the top spot and forcing the latter to settle for second. "Into the Storm" opened last weekend too and managed to place third with a total weekend gross of USD 17.3 million. Meanwhile in Malaysia, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" opened at number one as well and "Into the Storm" opened at number two. "Guardians of the Galaxy" lost its throne and slipped two places down to number three. Over in Singapore, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" has also overtaken "Guardians of the Galaxy", placing first and the latter placing second. "Into the Storm" proves to be a strong contender as well as it settles in third place on its opening weekend.
Movies that opened in Malaysia last week include, "Aa Gaye Munde U.K. DE", "Hardflip", "Entertainment", "Maindhan" and "Adnan Sempit Sawadikap". In Singapore, other releases for last week are, "Entertainment", "Detective Conan: Dimensional Sniper", "Break Up 100", "Sex Tape" and "Adnan Sempit Sawadikap".
