25 Nov – "X-Men: Apocalypse" has found its titular villain. "Inside Llewyn Davis" actor Oscar Isaac has recently signed on to play Apocalypse, Comingsoon.net reports.
Isaac's character En Sabbah Nur, or in this movie more known as Apocalypse, is a blue-ish supervillain born with mutant powers. The Marvel villain first appeared in comic book "X-Factor", in the July 1986 issue. It is one of the more highly ranked Marvel villains, placing third in a Top 10 ranking on Marvel.com back in 2008.
Bryan Singer will be back to direct and as the director has mentioned that there will be younger versions of "X-Men" characters in the movies, fans are now speculating which young actors will be joining the returning cast – James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Hugh Jackman, Nicholas Hoult and Evan Peters, who will be back to play Charles Xavier, Magneto, Mystique, Wolverine, Beast and Quicksilver.
Filming for the movie is expected to begin April 2015 in Montreal, Canada.
Isaac will be seen next in "Mojave", acting alongside Mark Wahlberg, and also in "A Most Violent Year", releasing in cinemas on 1 January 2015. He will appear in two more 2015 movies, "La Machina" and Disney's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens".
"X-Men: Apocalypse" is set for release in North America on 27 May 2016.
