16 Dec – Five young and talented actresses are reportedly being eyed by Disney to take on the female lead role in the upcoming "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales". According to Movie Web, the five actresses that are set to test for the role over the next week are: Lucy Boynton (Miss Potter, 2006), Gabriella Wilde (Endless Love, 2014), Jenna Thiam (Vie sauvage, 2014), Kaya Scodelario (The Maze Runner, 2014) and Alexandra Dowling (Hammer of the Gods, 2013). Details on the character that one of them will end up playing on the silver screen are unclear, but she is said to be the love interest of "Maleficent" actor Brenton Thwaites' character, Henry, a young British soldier who joins forces with Captain Jack Sparrow. Other actors confirmed on board of the fifth franchise are Johnny Depp who once again reprises his role as Captain Jack Sparrow, Geoffrey Rush who will be returning as Captain Barbossa and Javier Bardem who will play the role of a new villain named Captain Brand. The last "Pirates of the Carribbean" movie was released three years ago. 2011's "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" grossed over USD5.6 million in Malaysia and made a global gross of over USD804.6 million.
