19 Apr – It has been a while since we had news of "Mrs. Doubtfire 2", but word is that the development of the sequel at Fox 2000 is coming along nicely and both Robin Williams and Chris Columbus are attached to return as the film's star and director, respectively. "Mrs. Doubtfire" is a 1993 American comedy film based on the novel Alias Madame Doubtfire by Anne Fine. Williams plays Daniel Hillard, a talented but unemployed actor, who disguises himself as an elderly Scottish nanny whom he dubs "Mrs. Euphegenia Doubtfire", in order to spend time with his children after his divorce. The film was a huge box office success and was placed 67th in the American Film Institute's 100 Years, 100 Laughs: America's Funniest Movies. In 2001, actress Bonnie Hunt started writing the screenplay for a sequel, but numerous script problems led to the sequel being scrapped in mid-2006.
