Warner Bros studios starts "Harry Potter" team

Warner Bros. starts a team to further develop the "Harry Potter" franchise. More spin-offs and a possible reboot?

1 Aug – After announcing last year that the studio had formed an expanded creative partnership with "Harry Potter" author, J.K. Rowling, Warner Bros. Entertainment has now set up a team that it says aims to "develop and execute a high-level strategic vision for the Harry Potter brand and its ancillary businesses."

Potter fans hold on to your wizarding hats as this means there will be more new projects, with more possible spin-offs included.

Some of the projects currently lined up are a new film series with "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them", a suite of Harry Potter digital services, products including J.K. Rowling's own initiative, "Pottermore", and a Harry Potter stage play which will open in London's West End next year confirms Variety.

J.K. Rowling partnered with Sony to develop the interactive website that tells the unknown parts of the "Harry Potter" series

Projects involving theme parks include the recent opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Japan, the expansion of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Florida and the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter.

Josh Berger, president and managing director of Warner Bros. U.K., Ireland and Spain and now also president of the franchise development team, said, "With Harry Potter's consumer touch-points continuing to grow and flourish, I am confident that this talented, cross-company global team will enable us to take full advantage of the many opportunities ahead – helping to bring Harry Potter in all its future incarnations to fans all over the world."

The legacy of "Harry Potter" isn't ending soon as long as the team keeps churning out fresh ideas to keep loyal fans entertained and new fans intrigued. Looks like Warner Bros. intend to keep the boy wizard living eternally – and live on he will.
